I read with great interest a recent edition of the L.A. Times Real Estate section, which dealt with the adverse effects of "mansionization" throughout Southern California.

With new home construction using the maximum allowable capacity of a lot, thereby dwarfing older existing homes, more established communities have been forced to address this issue in order to protect the character and property values of their neighborhoods.
