Summary


Regarding the letter by Brian Bise ("A history with Iran," July 16). He claims that all the problems of the Middle East are all America's fault. I believe that he misplaces blame. We didn't make the current boundaries, the British and the French made those boundaries. We didn't create Israel. In fact, Israel was actually a British colony. It was the British who created Israel.

The current problems with Iran date back to World War II when Iran was unjustly invaded by the U.K. and the Soviet Union to force them to hand over their oil to the allies. Iranian requests for U.S. assistance against the invasion fell on deaf ears and America did nothing to secure Iranian independence. This was an essential part of the allied war effort.
