Gerald Plessner wrote a column, "Sen. Kerry: Some suggestions on getting tough' (Aug. 19) that begins with the right- wing smear campaign against John Kerry about his military career and how it's benefiting the Bush/Cheney ticket. The Tribune undoubtedly is receiving a flood of angry retorts from Republicans.
While Kerry may well have embellished his achievements in Vietnam and is utilizing them in his pursuit of the presidency, the attacks against him by Bushies is what I find disgusting.See the full content of this document
