Summary
On behalf of the Los Angeles County Child Support Services Department I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Father's Day and as department director, personally thank all of the non-custodial fathers who faithfully make their payments on a monthly basis to our department. We often hear about fathers who do not make child support payments for their children but seldom do we recognize the thousands of fathers who consistently support their children.
With the national divorce rate at over 50 percent and the out-of- wedlock birthrate exceeding 30 percent, the number of families and children needing child support services has grown tremendously over the last few decades. The Los Angeles County Child Support Services Department is the largest locally operated child support agency in the nation with approximately 500,000 cases and collections last year which exceeded $500 million.See the full content of this document
