Rosemead Woman Shot Ex-Boyfriend, Then Herself, Coroner Official Says

ROSEMEAD - A Rosemead woman was the shooter in a murder-suicide last week, Los Angeles County Coroner's officials said Thursday.Dung Nguy, 21, fatally shot Philip Chau, 21, of Rosemead, before killing herself with a single gunshot wound to the head on Jan. 6, said Brian Elias of the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office.Investigators suspect Nguy was unhappy about Chau having a new girlfriend, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau Lt. Liam Gallagher said. "The only thing we can surmise is the fact he had a new girlfriend," Gallagher said. "Obviously, there were some issues with that she didn't like."

Nguy was found dead near the front door of Chau's home after family members heard gunshots in the 2600 block of Earle Avenue just after midnight, sheriff's Lt. Liam Gallagher said.
