LOS ANGELES - The California Supreme Court refused today to consider the case of a man who was convicted of fatally shooting his girlfriend outside an Alhambra motel.

The state's highest court denied a defense petition seeking review of the case against Juan Manuel Linares, who was convicted of second-degree murder for the July 1, 2007, slaying of 20-year-old Yesenia Macias in a parking lot outside the Towne House Motel.
