EL MONTE - The City Council voted to increase City Manager Rene Bobadilla's potential severance package to one year as a reward for what members called "phenomenal" work.

"It's a show of support for the work he has been doing," Councilman Juventino "J" Gomez said after Tuesday's vote. "He is doing a phenomenal job, working seven days a week, 12- to 14-hour days."
