Mountjoy's 9-year-old son made a mistake by painting out the fluorescent tip of his toy gun. When he took it into a fast-food restaurant, workers thought he had a real weapon and called the sheriff. Fortunately for the youngster, deputies didn't just shoot him dead, as have police in other instances.
