PASADENA - After nearly two years of legal efforts to recoup money from contractors accused of bilking the Pasadena Unified School District of $300,000 in contracts related to the much maligned Measure Y, the district has dropped its suit against the firms and a former school employee.

The suit against contractors Eric Peterson, Jesse Yzaguirre and Mark Kingsbury - a former district employee who was responsible for approving contracts - was dropped after school officials learned that recouping money against any of the men would be close to impossible, PUSD Superintendent Edwin Diaz said.
