Summary
I am so sick of hearing the cost of a national health plan cited as $1 trillion for 10 years. Why 10 years? Is it because a trillion sounds bigger than $100 million for one year? Why not say it will cost $10 trillion for 100 years? Isn't $10 trillion about 3 percent of the GNP for a century?
And why isn't anyone talking about net cost? The cost of insuring a healthy America should include the cost savings which will follow. Anyway, doesn't everyone have a right to a healthy life? I thought that was the kind of life that was behind the idea of the "right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."See the full content of this document
