Summary


Many city managers throughout the San Gabriel Valley have been dealing with state raids of local government funds for decades. Each year we scramble to minimize the impacts to services needed by our residents as Sacramento pushes the problem down to us, unwilling to confront their own dysfunctional government and spending addiction.

This time they have gone too far at exposing us all to unprecedented peril. Besides taking well over $4 billion from cities this time, taking our local street maintenance gas tax of close to $1-million per local city, and 30 percent of redevelopment agency funds, they are also considering releasing as many as 30,000 so called "non-violent felons" into our communities to save in the prison system. What does that mean in the San Gabriel Valley?
