Summary
At this Father's Day I'm thinking of my dad. He was raised in downtown Los Angeles and had hilarious and remarkable stories to tell of the old days back in the 1920s and 1930s when he was a child, finding things to keep busy, climbing roofs with his brothers, jumping off trees pretending to be Tarzan, sneaking into the circus tents when the circus came to town.
Later, as a young adult, my Dad joined the Army Air Corps during WWII, became a top turret gunner and flight engineer in a B-17 and performed acts of heroism twice, rescuing his plane and its occupants from death.
