LOS ANGELES - Thousands of Lakers fans descended on downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday, turning the streets and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum into a sea of purple and gold as the franchise's 15th NBA championship was celebrated with a parade and victory rally.

Masses lined both sides of Figueroa Street between Staples Center and the Coliseum, cheering wildly as players, coaches and the Laker Girls passed by aboard fire trucks and double-decker buses.
