WHITTIER - State officials announced Thursday that Whittier Hospital Medical Center was fined $25,000 after hospital staff performed surgery on the wrong patient due to mistaken identity.
"The surgical team failed to check (the patient's) identification band with the chart prior to the induction of anesthesia and prior to the start of the surgical procedure," according to a report by the California Department of Public Health.See the full content of this document
