AVOCADO HEIGHTS - Residents of this long-established equestrian suburb are going to blows over a planned multi-use trail that many community members say will only worsen the horse traffic, smell and manure in the area.

Officials from the Los Angeles County Public Works Department were in Avocado Heights on Wednesday to present the $4.7 million trail project, but were instead bombarded with complaints from residents who believe the community will be inundated with outside horse-riders at all hours of the day once the trail is complete.
