Defense was among the casualties in the Dodgers' off-season overhaul, and Friday night one sloppy inning in the field was all it took for the Angels to rally for an 8-3 win before a sellout crowd of 43,619 at Angel Stadium in the Freeway Series opener.
The Angels scored seven runs in the seventh inning, helped along the way by three Dodgers errors. Granted, the errors were not committed by starters backup catcher Paul Bako made two and Las Vegas-bound third baseman Norihiro Nakamura the other.
