BALDWIN PARK - The kids who met on the ball field at Olive Middle School on a Saturday night last month strutted up to bat with ACDC's Back in Black, Tone Loc's Funky Cold Medina or some other lively song blasting from the speakers to get their juices pumping.

But once they got there, they didn't have to worry about keeping score or counting outs. Every kid on the roster got a chance to bat every inning. And sometimes, if a player had a tough time hitting a ball, he or she was pitched a couple balls at once, which increases the odds.
