PASADENA -- A big-rig driver charged with vehicular manslaughter in the deaths of two people following a multiple-vehicle collision in La Canada Flintridge in April appeared in Pasadena Court on Wednesday for a pretrial hearing. Marcos Costa, 44, of Massachusetts was ordered to return to court Nov. 5 for another pretrial hearing.

Prosecutors are still weighing whether to appeal a judge's dismissal of two murder counts against Costa earlier this month, but he remains charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter and three counts of reckless driving causing specified injury.
