Budget Crisis Still Concerns Economists

UCLA economists are slightly more optimistic about California's economy next year than three months ago but remain concerned about the state's yet-resolved budget crisis, according to the Anderson Forecast released today.

The economy, as measured by payroll employment, is expected to increase by 2 percent in 2005, revised up from 1.8 percent in June, the forecast said. Growth of 0.8 percent is still anticipated for this year.
