The state Assembly Transportation Committee has unanimously approved AB 1361 by Assemblyman Anthony Portantino, D-La Canada Flintridge, which would ban trucks on the Angeles Crest Highway between Big Pines Highway and the 210 Freeway.
The bill, co-authored by state Sen. Carol Liu, D-Pasadena, would also impose a minimum fine of $1,000 for violations. It was prompted by a big rig crash in which a truck lost its brakes on the road and crashed into a car, killing a Palmdale man and his 12-year-old daughter.See the full content of this document
