In a room overflowing with friends and family, Steve Brister and his brother Jeff accepted the Glendora Coordinating Council Humanitarian Service Award for the month of March for their mother, Diane Brister. She couldn't attend the ceremony because she was recovering from an illness.

More than 10 local organizations, from Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich to the Glendora Public Library, recognized Brister for her many years of service to the Glendora community.
