LOS ANGELES - A motion by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich to require the Department of Public Works to obtain an environmental impact report for the Hahamongna Sediment Removal Project in Pasadena was carried by the Board of Supervisors at Monday's meeting.
The project, which was due to start in September, would remove more than 1.6 million cubic yards of sediment from the Devil's Gate Dam and Reservoir and haul it off-site. An emergency exemption from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) was granted following the 2009 Station Fire; an estimated 936,000 cubic yards of post-fire debris was deposited in the dam in the 2009-2010 storm season, officials said.See the full content of this document
