Pasadena to Consider Supporting 710 Freeway Legislation

PASADENA - City officials will consider lending their support to a state bill that would abolish an above-ground extension of the 710 Freeway at Monday's Council meeting. SB 545, authored by state Sen. Gil Cedillo, D-Los Angeles, and passed by the Senate last week, would pave the way for the state to pursue a 4.5-mile tunnel option to complete the freeway. State transit officials have been leaning toward a tunnel option for the last several years.

Three Suspected in Pomona Takeover Robbery

POMONA - Police jailed three men Thursday following a broad- daylight takeover-style robbery of a Postal Annex store, authorities said. Jon Hagen, 29, Jonah Arnold, 18, and Marco Afolayan, 18, were booked on suspicion of armed robbery, Pomona police Officer Steve Prentice said in a written statement.
