Bill Would Financially Aid Illegal Immigrant Students

Ignoring the governor's veto of last year, a legislator has again introduced the California Dream Act, which would provide state financial aid for students who enter into the U.S. illegally. Authored by state Sen. Gil Cedillo, D-Los Angeles, the bill would give foreign students access to Cal Grants, scholarship programs they are not currently eligible for, and aid from individual schools.

Family Seeks Woman Gone Since Friday

ROWLAND HEIGHTS - Family members and detectives searched Monday for a 75-year-old woman who has been missing from her home since Friday and possibly suffers from dementia, authorities said. The woman, Mui Nhi Troung, 75, left her home on Tortosa Avenue in Rowland Heights sometime Friday morning to look for bottles and cans, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Detective Diane Harris of the missing persons bureau.
